I have often difficulties hearing what tools they speak about.
At the time 44.44, Kate Stewart is starting to speak about harware tools, saying something like safir board, which I have googled but not finding anything interesting.

As someone who once developed real-time trace tools, I'll attest to them as great tools to have and always enjoy seeing where the tools for that have advanced since the days I worked on them.
I also have to second Shawn Prestridge mentioning Wireshark when there's anything remotely network-related involved. I'm barely past a beginner with it, but as I have learned it I see how incredibly powerful it is.
