Asmita Korde-Patel

Asmita is a civil servant at NASA Goddard Space Flight Center in the Instrument Electronics Development branch. She works on implementing algorithms onto hardware for space flight instruments. She is currently pursuing her PhD in electrical engineering with a focus in signal processing at University of Maryland, Baltimore County. Her research interest lies in applying compressive sensing (CS), a mathematical theory of sampling data, to transient photometric measurements. Specifically she is studying the effects of CS application for gravitational microlensing, a technique used to detect exoplanets.
