Battery life got you down? Use Joulescope!

- Joulescope - Watch Now - Duration: 06:43

Measuring energy consumption during product development is crucial, especially for battery-powered and always-on devices. Until recently, accurate measurement has been expensive, tedious, or error-prone.

Meet Joulescope, the most affordable and easy-to-use precision DC energy analyzer. In this session, Matt Liberty, the creator of Joulescope, demonstrates how to use this exciting, new USB-connected test instrument to measure the current, voltage, power, and energy of a target device. See how Joulescope makes it easy to iterate and improve battery life. Find out why so many engineers say Joulescope is now one of their favorite and most effective tools.

Nice product, but the price seemed rather high relative to what I would have expected. Can you please explain the factors that contribute to the price?

Hi Glenn,

Value is a funny thing. Many of our customers ask, "How can Joulescope be so inexpensive and still have such excellent dynamic range, accuracy, precision, ease of use, and super fast autoranging"? Joulescope is often compared to instruments costing more than 10 times as much.

Creating such a powerful instrument requires careful engineering. You can find some teardowns across the web. That engineering requires quality components, which cost money. We have done our best to keep costs low while also building a sustainable business.

If you are developing a professional, battery-powered product, the purchase cost of Joulescope easily pays for itself, but you don't have to take our word for out. All of our testimonials come from our enthusiastic customers. Also, check out Twitter.

I hope this helps, and I hope you allow us to help you build some great, low-power devices!

Best regards,
-- Matt

Hi Matt, any plans for a new Kickstarter project? I missed out on the original Joulescope campaign.

Hi Joffrey,

Sorry to hear you missed out! We don't have any new Kickstarter campaigns or product launches planned. While we are working on what comes next, it's still a long way out. The existing Joulescope JS110 still provides great value at MSRP to develop low-power products!

Best regards,
-- Matt
