Live Discussion - What the FAQ is an FPGA
Clive "Max" Maxfield - Watch Now - EOC 2020 - Duration: 01:01:08
Hi Kalilo -- that's very kind of you to say -- thanks so much -- I enjoyed myself (much like my dear old mom, the real trick is to get me to STOP talking LOL
12:16:07 From Patrick Nercessian : I was wondering if you could give some of your insights on the newer FPGA families, like the Xilinx ACAP Versal series, with multiple vector processing (AI) cores. How do these platforms compare to other hardware accelerators like GPUs for AI processing? 12:52:14 From Patrick Nercessian : thanks 12:52:48 From Rene : What is your take on the Pynq Z2 for beginners? 12:54:44 From Rene : thank you 12:54:54 From Lance.Doyle : can you share a link on this language? 12:55:27 From Lance.Doyle : Pynq2z2 12:55:54 From Lance.Doyle : Great 12:57:09 From Lungsi : Thank you Max and Jacob for the interesting discussion. Because of the limitations of microcontrollers already addressed by Max as a computational neuroscience researcher I have been looking into running my experiments on DSP at the level of assembly language. In the beginning of the discussion Max mentioned DSP. So, I am curious if Max would recommend FPGA over DSP for developing non-artificial neural networks (for research hence not based on some neural network library)? 12:58:59 From Lungsi : Biological based neural network or Behavioral/Psychology based neural networks. 13:01:53 From Lungsi : Thank you very much Max. 13:02:37 From Rene : Awesome!
I would thank you very much for the presentation and the discussion.
